At last! You lucky people! You now have at your disposal the most crucial sourcebook to hit the scene in many a year.

Once again, David Kerekes and his Critical Vision publishing outfit have produced the goods (pity they ain’t allowed to take the penalties for the England football team). God bless ’em! For many years now I’ve been singing the praises of the ‘reviews section’ in Headpress magazine; the variety, diversity and scope of which is simply unbeatable. Well, my friends you’ve now got the chance to get ya grubby mitts on an indispensable and vital sampling of the vast and glorious, dodgy and dubious assortment of publications that exist out there more than you ever dreamed of, ain’t that the truth.

This baby is devoted to all things that might be defined as pop culture, alternative, underground or fantastic; an entertaining, enlightened and rock ‘n’ roll road trip down the highway to the counter culture funfair.

Comics, graphics, music, the erotic and esoteric, cult films, cutting edge fiction and a barn stormin’ array of periodicals and small/indie press publications, complete with prices and contact details (where available), all jiggle together to complete one helluva top-notch production.

The guide is split into a number of sections, making it even easier for you, dear reader, to locate your particular poison. Whether it be Italian horror films or ‘Savoy’ publishing, hand produced booklets to pulp art, it’ll be in there somewhere. And what fun y’all have a’ searchin’.

One word of warning do not try and down it all in one go. You’ll go into information overload. Take ya time, read and savour, ain’t no ‘New Labour spin’ here, kiddies. These people are genuine. Fat pigeon? Not half, in a word, essential!
