Over the past few years the developers of Wraeththu from Enchantment to Fulfilment (www.wraeththu.wox.org), have been working to produce a game that offers something new to the role-playing market. One month away from release, the game is in the final stages; the team are working to make sure everything is proofed and double checked, ready for its launch at Grissecon 3 / Lunacon 2005 (www.immanionpress.wox.org/grissecon/) in New York.

The setting is based on the seven Wraeththu Mythos novels, written by ‘Storm Constantine (Mage: The Sorcerers Crusade 1988)’, over the last nineteen years. It offers a world where social and political degradation have struck at the heart of every community, nature has started to turn against humankind, enabling the Wraeththu to take dominance over vast areas of land. The eight base tribes offer flexibility for any player, and provide something for everyone.

The Storm System’s key features include a combat system, where forethought and planning are essential, and a narrative magic system, which adds flexibility and ingenuity to the magician’s arsenal. The core system offers a quick and simple resolution system, which offers greater flexibility and success, if the character can engineer the situation.

Wraeththu: from Enchantment to Fulfilment’s appendices come with a set of eight pre-generated characters and a sample scenario, so players can jump right into the action and get used to how things work. Also there are sections offering useful advice for first time storytellers and players, from building better characters to creating interesting stories. With additional material from ‘Andrew Peregrine (Swashbuckling Adventures 2003-4, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Expansions 2003, Firefly/Serenity 2005)’, ‘Darren Pearce (Death: Guardian at the Gate 2002, City Guide 1: Everyday Life 2001)’ and ‘Christopher Coyle (Dragonlance Campaign Setting 2003),’ there is enough information for a wide range of scenarios.

Available on pre-order direct from Immanion Press (www.immanionpress.wox.org), or via Amazon.co.uk. Upon release the game will be available from Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and a multitude of online stores. Wraeththu: from Enchantment to Fulfilment and the novels that inspired it can also be ordered from any good book store.
