Title: FantasyCon 2010 - a few photos
Post by: David A. Riley on September 19, 2010, 09:47:06 pm
We have only just arrived home a couple of hours ago from FantasyCon 2010, so I'm not really up to sayiong too much about it yet, except that this was one of the best, most interesting and well-organised conventions I have ever been too. It was also great to meet so many interestsing and nice people.

Anyway, as an appetiser here are a few photos we took there:

The thanks are all mine. You and the rest of the FantasyCon committee worked your socks off and did a brilliant job. It was a pleasure to attend this year's convention.

You'd be surprised how much Ranjna and I were able to relax this weekend, thanks to volunteers like Debbie and Jenny, but the weeks leading up to the event were a bit of a grind. I'm really glad the work has paid off. I'm looking forward to attending next year as a punter.

Thanks for that, David! I wondered if anyone had managed to grab some pics of the Pan event & they look great!

Kate & I are very slowly recuperating this morning so that's about all I can type right now.

It was great to meet you and Kate again over the weekend. Hope you both recover soon!

By the way, I did wonder whether to use this in some sort of caption competition.

Great pictures, David. Lovely to meet you (albeit briefly) at last. I'm glad to see I'm not in the background in any of the pictures - I hate having my photo taken!  :D

Stephen - just to say a H-U-G-E "thank you" to you, Guy and the rest of the FCon committee and volunteers for making it such a great event. I haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages! You did such a great job, all of you. And you deserved all those books you won in the raffle, Stephen!  ;)

Too tired to say more about FCon at the moment - I've posted some quick thoughts about it on the RCMB, if anyone takes a look over there. Too knackered to do it here too. But thanks again - it was brilliant!  :)

Thanks for all the kind words, Caroline!

David, is it okay for me to have used your photo of the FantasyCon committee on my blog? I'd like to upload it to Facebook too, if you wouldn't mind. Fantastic photo.

Here are my thoughts from the weekend:

Splendid pictures, David.

Stephen you and the rest of the team did an excellent job.

I'll miss Nottingham but here's to Brighton nextr year.

Myself and nadia had a really good time, the books are already being read.

Thanks for standing in as chair Stephen. Very much appreciated, and good luck to David Howe.

The King is dead, long live the King.

Wayne.

Great photos David.

FantasyCon was a huge success this year...it is a truly inspirational convention, and so friendly too. Roll on Brighton 2011.

Posted a gallery on my website. www.garysstrangeworld.com

Feel free to use any. So happy for Telos winning an award.

Now I've got to start reading all the books I bought!!!

Those are really nice pics Gary, and particularly as I haven't seen any others for the Black Book 7 launch!

Indeed. I loved FCon - in many ways I enjoyed it more than WHC 2010, it was more laid back and friendly. Then again, WHC was my first ever convo so it was no wonder I was a bit stage-struck by Brighton.

And what's THIS! FCon 2011 in Brighton, the same venue as WHC...hmm. No complaints from me (apart from the ridiculous car parking prices) but what was the reasoning behind shifting FCon from Nottingham to Brighton?
