Just wondered if anyone else has read this? Personally I think it's one of the best novels I've ever read and I can't wait for the sequel next year.
At times her prose reminded me of Peake. A very accomplished writer in my opinion.

and he has what is probably my favourite book title: Things That Never Happen, although imagine if it were Things That Never Happened. Would that have been even better? It's either that or Phoenix in Obsidian.

Taking a break from wading through the Asimov universe and reading The Mystery of Fu-Manchu (with all its political incorrectness) and Tanith Lee's Birthgrave (thought I would have a bit of 70s nostalgia - bought a tatty paperback online that smells like an old bookshop - lovely).

But soon I will go back to Isaac as I realised chronologically I should have started with I, Robot: to Protect by Mickey Zucker Reichert.

Just joined the forum and planning to join the BFS soon (nice Yule present for me!). Currently working my way through the Asimov universe series (including books by other authors), but favourites from Fantasy and Sci-Fi genre include Moorcock, Holdstock, James Barclay, P.K. Dick, M. John Harrison, Pratchett, and so on and so on.

I do tend to record my books on Goodreads (, but I find the site so huge it's rather impersonal. I sometimes wish there were a smaller, UK-based site.
Not everything I've read is on there though (that would take too long).
