Lovecraftian Tales From Wales

The old gods are dead … The older gods have returned!

Before the American master of the macabre H. P. Lovecraft there was the Welsh wizard of the weird Arthur Machen, who filled his pages with tales of ancient evil. Now, completing the circle, comes a collection of original tales from the land of Machen following in the footsteps of Lovecraft and his uncanny creations.

In What Others Hear by John Llewellyn Probert, a musician comes to rural Wales to convalesce in peace. But what terrible secrets hide behind the notes of the music he so loves? Adrian Chamberlin shows us that seemingly innocent old traditions can conceal sinister intentions when dark forces use them to deadly ends in Stranger Crossings. In Charles Black's tale, a brilliant Welsh scholar finds the price of knowledge can cost you everything when he discovers the true purpose of that dreaded tome The Necronomicon. And six more Lovecraftian tales of the otherworldly.

'Now That I've Lost You', the latest collection by Paul Edwards, is now available as a paperback or Kindle edition from Amazon. Find out more here: http://www.screamingdreams.com/nowthativelostyou.html

A man seeks a cure for his loneliness in the squalid back streets of Goa. A couple find solace in each other as the world comes apart at the seams. Sinister creatures besiege a small American town buried in fog. And as the dead rise from rent, yawning graves, a girl is holed up in a farmhouse with one of their own…

In these nineteen tales of love and loss, sex and death, you will brave witches, warlocks and the living dead; traverse uncharted, hypnotic highways; and you will meet up with green-eyed losers who inhabit small spaces: whether it’s graveyards, old churches, or their own echoing heads.

Some news on the Screaming Book of Horror, which I will be publishing in time for FantasyCon. Editor Johnny Mains informs me that the lineup consists of stories by John Brunner, Alison Littlewood, Robin Ince, Bernard Taylor, Reginald Oliver, Anna Taborska, David A. Riley, Claire Massey, Paul Finch, Rhys Hughes, Kate Farell, Craig Herbertson, Janine Wood, Alison Moore, Johnny Mains, John Llewellyn Probert, Steve Rasnic Tem, and John Burke. It will be a jacketed hardcover edition, 100 copies only, so if you want to make sure you get your hands on one then please ask about pre-ordering yourself a copy as soon as possible. There will NOT be a Kindle edition of this title, so the hardback will be your only chance of buying this book. You have been warned!

Screaming Dreams / Competition!
« on: May 30, 2012, 10:24:53 pm »
Competition time... As 'Lest You Should Suffer Nightmares' has made it onto the shortlist in the British Fantasy Awards this year, I thought I would offer these rare UPSIDE DOWN copies of the book! (the interiors were bound the wrong way up by mistake on a small amount of the print run). There are 3 copies up for grabs, each signed by the author Johnny Mains and cover artist Les Edwards. To be in with a chance of winning one of these, all you need to do is send me your best drawing/sketch/artistic representation of Johnny Mains!!! Or you could draw van Thal. Or even me, if you are desperate! Just thought it would be a bit of fun to see what you come up with. Be creative and not too serious! You can e-mail me your images or post them on this forum, or on Facebook. Good luck.
