Books / Re: finding new authors or old authors ?

can anybody tell me that authors are there that people do not read and why should I read them but one Lord Dunsany which I just remembered now are there any others out there .
George MacDonald’s two adult novels, Lilith and Phantastes

I liked the cover artwork on the Lion Publishing editions by Jim Lamb.

"George MacDonald was one of the foremost fantasy writers of the 19th century and influenced just about every writer that came after him. He was a mentor of Lewis Carroll, a friend of Mark Twain’s, and a man who helped shape the works of authors like Tolkien"

Check out his entry in The Encyclopedia of Fantasy it’s quite comprehensive.

TV and Film / Re: The Hobbit - only a week until the second instalment!!

Wow, what a brilliant film. I really enjoyed every minute. The best part was Riddles in the Dark, between Gollum and Bilbo. Absolutely brilliant. It does deviate in parts from the book, but if you can accept that then it really is worth seeing. The added scenes are very entertaining. Radagast is not brilliant, a little too cartoon like. Otherwise, a very good filmography.
My favourite chapter in the Hobbit is Riddles  going to the Imax  tomorrow😁to see it as I did with the first one. ;D

Just finished Apocalypse Cow by Michael Logan.  Much better than you'd think from the title.  Hilarious in fact.
I did enjoy that one, but I did not think much of the other Logan one that won the other half of the prize.
I have not seen another one by Michael Logan although I did hear there was one coming.
