« on: July 21, 2006, 01:22:17 pm »
Very happy to be recommended :D

If you have the 2006 BFS Calendar I did the Evil Clown portrait.

Most of my work is for Fantasy RPG's, books, magazines and Video Games. Colour and black and white illustrations and Concept Art.

There's a little info on the Warhammer RPG book being developed by Green Ronin at their web site. It's toward the bottom of  the New Years Message.

Hi Wayne,

I was scheduled to work on the Green Ronin GW project but had to pull out due to other commitments. I've been doing some art for the Colectible Card Games, the War Cry and Hourus Heresey sets.

I was looking at some Les Edwards work with a mate of mine yesterday. A book published by Games Workshop, I think around 1989 (?) Can't remember the name of the book now but the work was terrific.

I have a link on the BFS links page, is that what you mean?

Today I've been working on some more Call of Cthulhu art for that CCG too.  Creepy, weird characters and Monsters. Sweet :D

Thanks for lookin :)

Yep, we can swap links. I'll put a link to your site on my links page if you like.
And yes, please do bear me in mind. I'd jump at the chance at doing a horror/dark themed cover in particular.  Here's a personal piece. I've been told it's a bit grim, to be honest, it makes me chuckle :D

Okey Doke. Thanks for looking anyway.

I've only done 1 Heavy Metal cover, the rest of my work is for Fantasy RPG publishers and Collectible Card Games. I'm doing some Warhammer stuff at the moment.

I did a fair amount of pin-up work a few years back. Princess Leia lost her shirt around that time :D

Yes, I have a website:

You can get to it by clicking on the 'profile' button too I think.

I do remember it took a few episodes for me to really get into it, and I was concerned that the OCD angle could get used up very quickly, but they did manage to do some very interesting, and usually very funny stuff with it. You're right though, I never know when it's bloody on here!

I just popped over to the Pendragon website and had a quick click around. I'm an illustrator as it happens, if you need any cover art doing gimme a shout  :)

I've seen the first couple of seasons of Monk and I quite enjoyed them. It's pretty funny, and Tony Shalhoub is terrific. As I recall, when it first aired in the US it had trouble getting going and switched stations before it really took off.

I always liked the idea that you had this brilliant detective that could figure almost anything out, haunted by the murder of his wife, a crime that he could not solve.

I guess I should have moved this over to the RPG section...

Wayne, as you mentioned Games Workshop RPG's I wanted to pass on that Green Ronin recently announced a deal to develop just that. Here's a link with the info:
I have worked with them quite a bit, they're a great bunch, so I expect they'll do something cool with it :)

Thanks for the link. I wondered how it all got started :D  That was an interesting read.

I have to admit that I haven't played card games like this myself yet. The illustrations I'm doing are a very similar size and format to the Magic cards.

I found a link to the game I'm doing one of the card illo's for and I think there's some rules etc there:

Thanks for the info Wayne. It looks like I shall be busy when I make my way up to your neck of the woods :)

Funny you should mention Games Workshop. I'm just doing my first assignment for a couple of their Collectible Card Games. I'm getting to paint one of the mean looking Black Orcs :D

Heh, It's not bad here at all :)  I came here to work in video games and I've stayed for seven and a half years. I'm now freelancing as an illustrator full time and luckily I can pretty much do that from anywhere, particularly as I deliver all of my work digitally. My wife and I both miss family, and we actually miss England too!  We do plan on returning for conventions and the like though. The San Diego Comic Con is awesome, I'll miss it this year but I hope to attend '05. Hopefully do Gen Con Indy too at some point.

There are certainly a lot of companies/publishers out here, but frankly I've met very few of the people I work with in person. All buisness is conducted via e-mail. And since we decided to move home I've been surfing around to see what's going on in the U.K. That's how I found this forum. I'm looking forward to hopefully working with some British publishers in the coming years.

I'm looking forward to visiting Manchester actually. The Art Gallery there has some work I really want to see.

No comic art as yet. I have an artist/writer friend who sent a script over to me recently though. I've been thinking about having a go at comics for a while, so I'm planning  on taking a stab at this script and see what happens. I'm about to move back to England from L.A. so it's been on the back burner until I'm settled back home.

I agree. If you go to the HM website they have covers of past issues in the corner of the page. A new one appears every time the page refreshes. Some of the older covers I think are outstanding, really different and interesting. I do understand the publishers choice though. Sex sells I guess.

Thanks for your kind words Belilah. I actually just got my copy of the latest Dungeon magazine which I did a bit of work for. I did some illos for the Dark Sun setting which was excellent fun :D
