Anthologies/collections of the fantasy flavour
« on: July 12, 2007, 08:29:05 am »
So does anyone know of any recent good fantasy/comic fantasy anthologies/collections for a girl to read   ;D  Only I've gone through all my Year's Bests (& other Datlow/Windlings), and Chicks and De Lint and Martin Greenberg ones and I'm after some new stuff to read please!
Ta.   :-*

It's a big 'un but that recent Dreamscapes: A rrettrospective wih lots of George R R Martin's stuff in it was a cracking read!

Bit heavy to lug around on buses though as I found :-)

I liked Looking For Jake and Other Stories by China Mieville. Some cracking stories in there. Bit scary though, in case you mind that.

Hi Jen,

Here's two that may have passed you by:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flights-Extreme-Visions-Al-Sarrantonio/dp/0451460367/ref=sr_1_2/203-0569457-5405515?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184662034&sr=8-2

and

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paraspheres-Extending-Spheres-Literary-Fabulist/dp/1890650188/ref=sr_1_1/203-0569457-5405515?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184662183&sr=8-1

It was the gorgeous covers that did it for me, but I'm happy to report that the contents live up to them...

... but be quick as Amazon only has one copy of each left!   ;D
