It was good. Really did capture what it is like to work in a supermarket, and to suffer from mental illness (so far as I can tell, as someone who has seen rather than experienced it).
I wanted to read a book by each author to have a British Fantasy Award named after them. The Book of Kane by Karl Edward Wagner had some decent adventure stories, but Kane himself was a really unpleasant character. Now I'm reading Village Year: A Sac Prairie Journal by August Derleth, a journal of his life in a very small town, originally published in 1941. His writing about nature in the book is very impressive, especially when you consider none of it was originally intended for publication.
