Dambusters which uses the N word a bit too often for my liking.   :-\

I belatedly observe that if you'd seen the film on Channel 4 you would have found the dog was called Trigger.

It's certainly historically inaccurate.

Last film I saw was Chronicle, which I was pleasantly surprised by and enjoyed thoroughly.  Good fun.

Last night I went to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter it was quite a good story line, the vamps would have looked good in 3D and it flowed along quite easily with a twist towards the end.

UFO which I thought would be awful and turned out to be a gem reminding me of British urban sci-fi invasion stuff from the 60s and 70s, minus the telling morality.  Full of suspense with plenty of fun close up and stunts/handbagging.  Great use of kitchen sink drama and the old is s/he, isn't s/he spy in the camp idea.

it's the kind of suspense sci-fi where you're not fussed if the spaceships don't turn up

special props for the clever use of Sean Pertwee in cameo  8)

I went to see the Hobbit in 3D at the nearest Imax, I liked it Peter Jackson has done it again for me, a couple of laughs in the film but you won't find it in the book, I went back to see it in 2D still good even with the extra bits added in did not detract one bit from the enjoyment.

Roll on the next one. ;D

Warm Bodies which I found charming - a very enjoyable movie about reverse decomposition  :)

We watched The Tall Man last night, a film from the director of Martyrs. Worth a look. It's slow to reveal its hand, but when it does it becomes very interesting.

Ranjna and I agreed to have a double bill today, choosing one film each, no questions asked. That meant I had to live through Sweeney Todd (so much singing!) while she had to grit her teeth through Left Behind: the Movie (dreadful but fascinating).

I saw Mud the other day and loved it, for what it's worth.  Great performances, especially from the boys, a good character-based story.

I couldn't finish Sinister was too creeped out ... *such a lightweight* the zombie kid is whispering in my ear at the mo' ... a truly clever movie drawing you in with the intrigue, keyholeing sweet spots, and the whole bullying pantomime misleading of the phantoms - still freaked thinking about it - will try it again sometime when I'm less skittish - nice to see a horror film shot in a normal suburban house - the lighting was faultless but it's the foley that makes the scenes horrific ...  :D

so I watched Iron Man 3 instead which was fab - far exceeds the disappointing sequel - love the scenes with the kid - I'm suspecting that the actors have a lot of say in the scripting because it has Downey's trade mark quips

Saw the Adjustment Bureau for the first time, quite enjoyed it. Matt Damon does running about very well.

watched Island of Lost Souls, splendid film, Charles Laughton as Moreau is splendidly charming and sinister.

Recently I've seen Thor: "The Dark World" even better than the first one neat little twist at the end.

And it's only a matter of weeks till the next Hobbit one. ;D ;D ;D
