Guy is filling in as Awards Administrator for this year's awards. If you'd like to express an interest in taking over from September, do get in touch.

There's quite a lot to the job, including:

- preparing voting forms
- collating results
- checking eligibility (of voters and votees)
- organising awards ceremony

Guy may already be talking to people about this post, but if you'd like to express your interest, drop him a line: chair@britishfantasysociety.org

Just to note, one of the big bits of this job is already, kind of, out of the way - we've set up an online form for taking recommendations for the 2010 awards. We won't make it live until after the AGM, though, in case changes to any of the rules or categories are voted in.

More excellently, we've also got a mail merge and Word macro ready to sort out the recommendations and arrange them into a longlist... The main job left to do at that stage will be to input paper recommendations into the online form or spreadsheet and check the eligibility of items.

Course, someone new coming in could decide to do it all a completely different way, but it's there to be used if you want!  Cheesy

This will probably not be a big surprise, but I've joined Guy on the British Fantasy Awards committee to take care of the administration of the voting procedure.

In a shocking turn of events, I'm now the Awards Administrator, but Guy will still be organising the actual awards show. So I'll take this job off the market, but if anyone would be interested in taking over at some point, do get in touch with either me or Guy.

Really, that goes for any of the BFS positions. If there's anything you'd like to do, from editing a publication to being the actual chair, let us know so we can let you know if something's going to open up, train you up on different aspects, etc.
