As one awards cycle ends with a bang, the next begins with a quiet mention: members of the BFS or FantasyCon 2009, and those who have already been wise enough to register for FantasyCon 2010, can now begin to make recommendations for the 2010 awards.

There are no changes to the categories this year. We will be taking recommendations until 14 February 2009, and then the recommendations will be collated to form the longlist, though members will as in previous years not be restricted at that stage to voting for items that appear on that longlist.

Here is the recommendations form for 2010.

(In the note appearing in the current issues of Dark Horizons and Prism I wrote that recommendations would close on January 31, but on reflection there's no reason not to leave it open the extra couple of weeks.)

Just a reminder that we're now taking recommendations online - here.

We'll also be sending out the usual form in a mailing.

I couldn't see anywhere else on the site where people were suggesting titles for inclusion ... so please forgive this mention here.

As I'm the publisher, I can't recommend Telos Publishing's only title for 2009, but hopefully if members have bought a copy, they may be moved to suggest it in the NON-FICTION category:

IT LIVES AGAIN by Axelle Carolyn, published by Telos Publishing

Large format, full colour, fully illustrated analysis of modern horror films ... everyone who has seen it and bought it has loved it, and it would be wonderful if people felt it worthy of mention.

For further details and to get hold of a copy if you don't have the title, then visit: www.telos.co.uk

There are some sample pages on the Telos site, and these can also be found on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lives-Again-Horror-Movies-Millennium/dp/1845830202/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263218818&sr=8-1

Cheers
