While I'm here, a huge thank you to Steve for adding this task to an already busy schedule!
I'm sure we can make this work out.

The art show is now FULL. My apols to any artists who haven't got in touch yet (since the show had to be re-organized) but there simply isn't any more space available in the room at this stage.

Confirmed artists are :

Bryan Talbot
Les Edwards / Edward Miller
Daniele Serra
Sunila aka Dragonladych
Andrew Bigwood
Russell Morgan
Karen Reay-Davies

I look forward to seeing you all at the art show!

Steve

A HUGE thank you to all the artists who came together at the last minute to display their fantastic work at the Art Show this year. You are all the best! Big thanks also to everyone who spent time at the art room desk - I know you were giving up valuable drinking time! And last but not least, thanks to all the visitors who made the effort to climb the stairs and turn the corner, to find the art room in the first place. Oh, and thanks to the generous people who actually parted with their well-earned cash to purchase some artwork! I am so pleased it all went so well.

Thank you, Steve, for saving our bacon!

And it was great to finally chat with you - maybe next time I'll try to do that when I'm not so stupidly drunk...

Excellent show, thanks to all the artists and to you Steve.

I was one of the happy wanderers, nadia has a wonderful Dragon refrigerator magnet. If only I had some money, then a number of those wonderful pieces would have been mine.

Wayne.

Only popped up ten minutes before closing, but so much fabulous artwork; could see quite a few adorning my living room...

I'm putting together a quick FantasyCon report issue of the Estronomicon eZine today, so if anyone has any comments (or photos) they'd like me to include about the event (especially the art show!) then please send them along, thanks!

I'm VERY glad I popped upstairs to see the art show. I noticed that Bryan Talbot was inviting bids on his artwork on display there. Most had minimum bids way beyond my purse, but one didn't - a watercolour on board of JRR Tolkein's "Roverandom" which he'd done as a one-off for the Radio Times. So I bid. I thought I had no chance, someone else was bound to put a higher bid in - higher than I could afford. In the end, I was popping up and downstairs just to check! I couldn't believe it - no-one else bid on it!

So I'm now the very proud owner of a lovely Bryan Talbot original. I'm chuffed to bits with it!  ;D

Mind you, I do feel a little guilty. I'm sure it'll be worth far more than I paid for it, and it feels like a bit of an insult to one of my favourite artists that it went so cheaply ...  :-\
