Bear in mind your deadline's not till next week, Jay, though getting it in early doesn't hurt!

Today's just the deadline for people to get their reviews to you. You then have a week if you need it to tidy them up for publication.

Oh right, I assumed May 3rd was the date to get them to David.

Ta,

Jay

Yes - although I have started work on it, there is still plenty of time for reviews to come in, though the sooner I get them the more time I'll have for checking everything and laying the issue out as well as possible. Late reviews can still come in for a week or so yet.

Yes, the deadline for getting reviews to the section editors is today, and then next Monday is the deadline for everything that goes directly to David - news, BFS news, columns, review sections, and so on. I'll edit the earlier post to clarify.

Just an edit here to add - I can pretty much guarantee that I'll be working right up to the last minute of the deadline next Monday to get everything to you, David (just as I'll be working till the end of today to get all my reviews in to the section editors), so if getting stuff on that date is going to make things tight for you this time, we should think about setting earlier deadlines for future issues.

No, those dates aren't a problem. I can slot things in easily as I get the issue sorted out. I just wanted to make sure I got an early start to it. It's looking to be a lot easier with this second issue than the first, mainly because I have most of how I want to lay it out already formulated.

Jay - I'd be happy to review comics, if you're still looking for people...

The more, the merrier!

We seem  to be struggling to get hold of review copies at the moment, but I'm hoping to change that as time goes on.

Drop me a line offlist, so I can see what sort of comics you're into, and what you'd be up for reviewing.

Cheers,

Jay

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the June issue of Prism is almost ready for the printers. Most of the reviews and articles are in, though there is still time this week for any last minute additions.

There is no reason why it should not be off to the printers by the end of this week, in good time for distribution to members next month.

The June issue of Prism is now ready to go to the printers, so if anybody has anything they would like me to include in it for them - ie books being published in the near future, etc., or any other news items - would they email me straight away. I intend to send it to the printers this coming weekend.

My email address is: rileybooks@ntlworld.com

Just to let everyone know that the next 56 page issue of Prism is off to the printers. Hope you all like it. Mark Morris's Mark of Fear is back, plus a new regular column by John Llewellyn Probert. This issue also includes an interview with Shaun Jeffrey, whose serial killer novel The Kult is already being filmed in the States.

Thanks for the interview, David. The film actually starts shooting in September. Auditions are taking place now.

Just received an email from the printers that the next issue of Prism is now ready and is being despatched to the BFS. As with the last issue it is black and white and fifty-six pages long. The cover is by a new artist to me, Howard Molloy, who is a freelance illustrator. http://www.howardmolloyillustrator.com/

Received my copies from the printers today. Hopefully, the rest will be going out to members shortly.
