I was going to ask your publisher for a review copy of The Invasion, but at that price I decided to just buy it...

So nice to have the book delivered instantly!

It's interesting what you say about reading the book in black and white. When Ranjna and I were watching The Happening, I suggested it would be much better in black and white - and it was. It made it easier to see where it was coming from.

It gives me a pain in the diodes all down my left side to tell you that The Invasion is now outselling The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy in the Amazon.com Kindle store... at the moment it's #11 in the Kindle Science Fiction chart.

Clucking bell!

Here's the Specters in Coal Dust line up. Lots of buddies, and some people I admire greatly. Well chuffed to get into this one.

Gary A. Braunbeck, Christopher Golden, Tom Piccirilli, Steve Rasnic Tem, Elizabeth Massie, Lee Thomas, Ronald Kelly, Bev Vincent, William Meikle, Nate Southard, Joshua Reynolds, Barbara Jo Fleming, Michael Bracken

Really good fun. I could read a hundred books like that one and still enjoy the 101st.

My wee ebook is proving a bit of a runaway hit on Amazon.com

It is currently in the top 10 of Science Fiction books available for the Kindle,
and in the Top 20 of ALL horror books.

So here I am, asking for the help of my newsletter readers to get it even higher
in the charts Please, tell your friends, relatives, people in the street. Anyone
you think might be interested in an alien invasion story. It's good. honest :-)

It's available on

Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/The-Invasion-ebook/dp/B003HS4V8O

Amazon.co.uk
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Invasion-ebook/dp/B003HS4V8O

And remember, you don't need a kindle to read them... you can download the
Kindle for PC, or Iphone on the Amazon site.

In other news

I made a conscious decision early this year to pick and choose markets more
carefully.

It seems to be paying off rather nicely. So far I have/will have stories in the
following print anthologies:-

- Null Immortalis (Nemonymous 10) (OUT NOW)
- Cthulhu 2012 (Mythos Books)
- Watch (Imprint Phoenix)
- Mountain Magic: Spellbinding Tales of Appalachia (Woodland Press)
- Call of Lovecraft (Papercut Press)
- Gaslight Arcanum (Edge Publishing)
- Specters in Coal Dust (Woodland Press)

There's another great antho sale I can't talk about yet, and a couple more
submissions I have out that I have high hopes for.

I also have recent pro Science Fiction short story sales to Escapepod and Daily
Science Fiction.

What with that, and The Invasion currently in the top 20 on the Amazon Horror
lists, and in the top ten in Kindle Science Fiction, it's been quite a couple of
months.

Also coming up, I have Kindle releases of many of the Penny Dreadful Chapbooks,
and a Carnacki collection.

Busy, busy, busy.

My story "Morning Sickness" will be reprinted in the "Best New Vampire Tales" anthology later this year.

This was one of my early stories, and was written as part of the back story in my novel "Eldren: The Book of the Dark."

It originally appeared in a glossy A5 small press mag, Velvet Vampyre back in the mid-'90s.
