The fantasy artist Frank Frazetta passed away on 10 May 2010.

No one lives forever and I guess 82 is a good age. Nevertheless, this news saddens me greatly. Frazetta was one of the few artists who could capture the essence of heroic fantasy (or swords & sorcery). His paintings of Conan -- that appeared on the Lancer books in the 1970s (or early 80s) are iconic.

Very sad to hear that. His work was bursting with energy and dynamism. I loved it. Shaped a lot of my childhood.
