Well I've read Cyberabad Days anyway which was very good indeed I thought.

The length of the Stephen King puts me off (most of his seem to be very long anyway).

I had a look at One in a bookshop, it might be a bit bleak for my taste.  Is it similar to Road - which was also too bleak for me to enjoy?

I wouldn't mind a pdf of Futile Flame

I do remember Conrad Williams saying he loved The Road - maybe at FantasyCon last year, on the spectacularly drunken midnight panel on the apocalypse? - but I didn't think One was really a depressing book.

I might give One a go then. Thanks for that!

Me? Bleak?

Elsewhere on this forum I've offered BFS members the chance to read a PDF of ONE. It would make sense to post it here too. So if you can't get your hands on a copy of the novel and would like to read it, please email crunchyhumans@gmail.com

Thanks.

Conrad

Just a reminder to everyone: this Saturday is your last day for voting. Even if you only vote in a single category, that vote could be the one that decides it...

Voting has now closed on the awards for this year.

A few bits of checking to do, but after some spreadsheet jiggery-pokery I've now got a pretty good idea of who has won.

The results will be announced at the British Fantasy Awards ceremony at FantasyCon, on September 18. Thanks to everyone who voted.

(Edited to fix date of ceremony.)
