Banquet?
« on: August 10, 2010, 06:12:36 PM »
Wondering what's happening re the Banquet this year?

I saw a post on the FantasyCon website that it would be a 30 buffet (with wine) but no details of how to actually register for it?

Is this going to be a first come scramble?  Or available to all attendees on the day?  Or ticket only? Or something else entirely?

It's useful to know so that one can plan a little beforehand ...

Cheers

David

Sorry for any confusion. Guy's made a decision on what to do with the banquet and once I have time to get a new PayPal button ready I'll email everyone who has booked for the convention so far and give them the opportunity to book.

I'll also have to provide refunds to everyone who had paid at the higher price (mainly people who had booked using the paper form).

I haven't booked for the banquet yet, and really wasn't sure whether to do so or not because the one we attended at the World Horror Convention was, to be honest, not very good foodwise (the Stoker Awards, etc that took place after the meal were another matter).

What would make the difference is whether there are activities taking place in the same room after the meal. Can anyone tell me this?

I'm pretty certain that the awards will follow straight after, but the doors will be open to everyone at that point.

That is what usually happens

Is the banquet on Saturday? It seemed like it could be another day from what I read when I booked.
I didn't book for that, but if it's on Saturday I'd love to attend.

Yes, it's on Saturday, and I think there are still some places left.
