How about an BFS Open Night in York or Manchester? I'll try and help organise one.

Great idea - go for it!

The main - and most difficult - thing is to find a venue. Once you've done that, choose a month - there's an open night planned for December, but nothing yet planned for next year, so any time then would be good.

Ideally, pick a date after a mailing, so that we can let members know about it through Prism.

Then let me (or rather, the chair - won't be me soon!) and Martin know and the BFS will get the news out through all the usual channels.

Try the Lass O'Gowrie Pub in Manchester - they run a *lot* of DOCTOR WHO nights and events and the manager, Gareth Kavanagh is *very* fan friendly:

If something can be arranged for Manchester I'm up for it. It's less than an hour's drive from me - I live near Accrington.

If there's any help needed, I'll do what I can.

Manchester isn't local for me, but I'd love to come down, given enough notice.

I think we will try and arrange something at the Lass, maybe for Christmas ...

I'm there in a few weeks so I can talk to the Manager then, and see if we can get a date agreed before then as well ...

There is an ON at the Lass O'Gowrie on the 6th Dec from 6pm ... so anyone who can't get to Lundun is welcome if they can get to Manchester ...

Lass O'Gowrie pub, 36 Charles Street, Manchester, M1 7DB
SUNDAY 5th DECEMBER from 6:00PM onwards.

Drinking, mostly!  ;) Everything's very informal: it's really just a friendly get-together. There's a good few of the London irregulars going, as well as people from further out (snow permitting, I guess).

Ah, that's good to know. I was VERY impressed with the drinking at FCon this year! Only trouble is, at the Christmas bash we won't have those cute little name badges to tell each other who we are...

But Peter, last time I did that it ended up being backwards. Serves me right for doing it in front of a mirror...  ;)

Then choose a palindromic nickname, like OTTO... :-)

Mind you, if I write 'RECURVE' on my forehead, I think Lou M will know who I am.

You still slumming it with those stickbows, Lou?
