'Mighty' Joe Young in Residence ;)
« on: January 26, 2011, 07:46:44 am »
My name's Joe Young, I lurked here a little before paying my dues this year, and am happy to become part of the history of this illustrious society.

I've been writing since I was 6 years old, always for the sheer joy of escapism and with no views to subbing until the end of last year, when I subbed a short story and miraculously got into the BFS journal. Great way to start the year.

Previous exploits include owning/running poetry/writing groups and being admin on several writing sites. I no longer have any ties to most of them as a lot of the groups were MSN Groups until Microsoft decided to pull the plug on their entire groups section. Many of the writing sites I had involvement in, such as 'BBC Get Writing' have similarly bit the dust, largely due to funding problems.

The whole 'Mighty' thing is an obvious pseudonym choice given my name and physical appearance. Before it conjures up images of someone towering and musclebound I'll point out that I look like a shaved Silverback in jeans and a t-shirt. My movie namesake is far better looking and in better condition than I am but at least my shit doesn't smell like bananas.

And there you have it.

Any questions?

Good day to you Mr Steel. What's it like being a Thaumaturge?

Being able to summon wine has its downside, I can tell you.
