Sex, Lies and Family Ties
« on: June 22, 2012, 11:30:46 am »
I bet that title grabbed your attention. The Alchemy Press is to publish this great coming of age novel, by Sarah J Graham, as a Kindle book (and maybe a printed version, too).

The brilliant cover artwork is by Steve Upham.

I've been editing this today -- the fourth edit? -- and still finding "errors". Making something flaw-free is almost impossible.

[sighs] Yup. Me too. Sometimes my paranoia starts wondering if the writers are slipping things in to see if I'm paying attention.

Finally ... finally ... I've managed to format a document for publishing via Smashwords (it's not that straighforward, Mr Theaker  :) ). Anyway, SEX, LIES & FAMILY TIES by Sarah J Graham is now available on the Smashwords website:

Thank you for reading this message, sponsored by many cups of tea!

This book isn't the usual type of fantasy covered by the BFS. However, when I read the manuscript I was certain of one thing: I had to publish this book.

By 1970, nineteen-year-old Carol has begun to finally make sense of her life, and on the day that Jim dies, Carol Hopcraft dances a jig in Mrs. Hamiltonís hallway. When Carol learns of Jimís death, all the pain of the past floods back to haunt her.

Well, no, not on Smashwords! I helped someone troubleshoot a book they had on there and it was like seeing how ebooks were made in the stone age! It's basically banging rocks together until a book falls out.

Obviously I am referring to preparing eBooks -- just clarifying things

I tag it in Word, then finish it off in Sigil - not the best or only way, but it's working well for me so far. A simple novel only takes an hour or so. Unfortunately I don't get to work on novels very often..!

If it isn't what the writer/publisher wants, would you say to him 'They don't like it Upham' ?
