Star Trek Books
« on: October 14, 2012, 10:43:06 am »
I don't suppose anybody knows anyone who might be interested in purchasing over 200 Star Trek books, do they? Most are in great condition and are paperbacks, although some are second hand and there is also about 15 hardbacks. It's a reluctant sell, but the missus says either they go or she does. If they could cook it would be different. If there is anyone interested, please drop me a line.

Cheers,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
It might be worth contacting someone like Andy at Cold Tonnage Books or Simon at Fantastic Literature. With a large collection like that they may well be interested.
Wish I could afford them myself!   :D

Thanks Caroline.

I've no idea who they are but I'll look into it.

I just want shot of them as they take up so much room and won't ever get round to reading them again, i don't suppose.

Any sensible offers will be considered so long as the buyer collects!

Thanks again

Jeff

Thanks for the heads up, Caroline, really appreciate it.

Sadly they've both already come back and said not for them at the present time.

Looks like the missus will be packing her bags then!

Just thought of another one - Zardoz Books:

(PS: Just tell your good lady how hard you're working trying to get rid of them - then buy her something nice with the proceeds when you sell 'em!  ;))

Canny thinking on your part and yes, it's probably the only thing that will appease "she who must be obeyed". Pity, I had my eye on a few new books I fancied, though that might well have defeated the object of the exercise I suppose.

I've been on the Zardoz website and will give them a try as well thanks. Also saw there's a pulp/paperback fair at the London Victoria Plaza hotel in a couple of weeks which looks interesting, so again thanks.

Well, that's what I'd want my husband to do anyway!  ;D

Thanks to everybody for their suggestions on where I might be able to offload my collection. I got in touch with all of them, but sadly there were no takers.

Cheers for your help anyway.

Aww, sorry that didn't work, Jeff. I guess the other option is eBay. Perhaps you could split them into smaller batches and sell them as bulk lots? Of course, there's no guarantee with eBay you'll get a good price. There's also Amazon marketplace - but I guess you'd have to do them one at a time there? Pretty time consuming I'd say.

If I think of any other places that might be willing to take them as a bulk lot, I'll let you know.

Hope the missus is happy with your attempts though!  ;)

I can't say I'm all that surprised Jeff. We actually gave all our spare Trek books to a friend.
