Seen any good mermaid films lately? (Or ever?)
« on: October 09, 2013, 11:01:42 AM »
Does anyone know any films they can recommend that treat mermaids (or even the selkie) seriously? There's plenty of literature but movie wise I'm not coming up with much. I know Odine but that's about it. Pirates of the Caribean is too swashbuckly and Splash is a classic but not the right tone.

Oh, and no Disney please!

Aquamarine and H20: Just Add Water are very popular in our house, but not what you're looking for.

Thanks folks.  Jim, I like the look of those - I'll track them down.  I thought Ondine was alright but had more potential.
