Here's a few thoughts and memories from myself: http://andrew-hook.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/joel-lane.html

And good words in your blog too, Pete.

Thanks, Andrew -- and your words brought tears to my eyes...

Some beautiful tributes above (thanks!) and elsewhere on the Internet.

Hi Peter and Andrew,
Some very perceptive and evocative memories in your pieces. Thank you for posting them at this difficult time.
Des, I hope to read some of the reviews at a later date. Thanks for making them available.

Here are some thoughts and memories from me about Joel and his work. I've also put links to other tributes to Joel at the end. This is by no means comprehensive so if anyone wants to add to the list, feel free to get in touch.

PS: Des, I just saw your link so I'll add it.

I never retain my copies of BLACK STATIC – giving them away to deserving causes – but I do intend to re-read and re-review Joel’s SLEEP MASK story one day.

Realised I've not put a word about Joel here.

He was a lovely man and great writer, the word modest was made for him.

I agree we should name one of the awards in his honour.

I know I've not said much and it's late in the day, but I keep being reminded of him so just had to say a word no matter how brief.

Wayne.

There is a substantial and highly fitting obituary to Joel Lane in the latest issue of BLACK STATIC (issue 38 as published by TTA Press): THE CONSCIENCE OF THE CIRCUIT by Nicholas Royle

There is a tribute to Joel, called 'Remembering Joel Lane' written by Simon Bestwick in BEST BRITISH HORROR, published April 15th. I felt it only right that he should be included in the first book.
‎"The duty of an enthusiast about a forgotten author is constantly to bring his name before the public, in hope that such forgotten writers and the treasures of their work may be rescued from undeserved oblivion" - Herbert van Thal
