Introduction to Unsung Stories
« on: March 16, 2015, 12:23:10 PM »
Unsung Stories are a London-based publisher of really good* genre fiction. The master plan is to publish genre fiction that is, heaven forfend, a bit literary. By which I mean good. Fantasy, SF, horror and all sub-genres: whatever, as long as it's in some way speculative and uses the genre tropes we all now and love to explore our worlds.

These could also be things larger publishers love but might also have trouble fitting into a list identity. Having spoken to someone from a larger publisher about one of our books, in fact, I know that's happened at least once already! So rather than compete with people who are doing what they do well and on a large scale, we want to offer a home for more distinctive work that wouldn't otherwise have a route to market.

A big part of this for us is that we accept un-agented submissions. Check the submissions thread for the latest on that. Please note we do sometimes close submissions so we can catch up on responses. If they're closed, bear with us. They will open again!

We also publish short fiction every fortnight which you can get for free by signing up here: www.unsungstories.co.uk/shorts. Submission guidelines are here: www.unsungstories.co.uk/short-fiction

The mod (UnsungStories) is really called George, in case you're wondering.

* We like to think so

With sorcery, as everyone knows, once it starts there's no stopping it.
