Faction Paradox: Head of State
« on: June 28, 2015, 06:42:35 PM »
“When the seventh head speaks, the War will end…”

In 11th century Arabia, Shahrazad tells her final story, on the
thousand and second night.
In 19th century Britain, Sir Richard Burton is sent on the most
important mission of his life.
In 21st century America, a serial killer is stalking a Presidential campaign.

And the hero has been written out of the novel.

“…and the true War will begin.”

For those unaware of the Faction Paradox series, it started off as a spinoff from the Doctor Who novels of the late 90s and early 2000s, but rapidly became much more — there’s a whole series of books, comics, and audio dramas now, featuring the War in Heaven, and the mask wearing, time travelling, voodoo terrorists of the Faction.

The current (entirely standalone) novel, HEAD OF STATE, is set in the 11th, 19th, and 21st centuries, and in a space out of time, and features vampires, djinns, a serial killer, Sir Richard Francis Burton, a talking frog, a talking decapitated head, a blogger, the invention of the Indian rope trick, and fifty-three footnotes.

It may contain trace elements of postmodernism...

Available for pre-order now.  To be published in August 2015.

Now out in paperback or ebook!

And to quote one forum reviewer, it's "like watching a BBC miniseries or the slightly lost-in-translation belated American adaption..." which is as good a description as any :)
