BFS Social London
« on: November 23, 2015, 09:05:15 AM »
We have a December social in London on the 4th December from 6.30pm at http://www.nicholsonspubs.co.uk/restaurants/london/doggettscoatandbadgesouthbanklondon

It is not a private room, it is a reserved area (which was not my preference) and so we are going for an informal social.

Hope to see you there.

Karen

BSF London Social 10th June

We have decided to ensure that our social events are accessible for everyone, which we are prioritising over having a private room. This means we are not planning formal content or book readings at this event.

We are at a new venue http://www.finelinebow.co.uk/find-us and would love your thoughts about this. If we enjoy it we may be back again.

So this will be a relaxed friendly social where everyone is very welcome!

(we also had a social in March, but I clearly forgot to post here...  apologies!)

You can keep up to date about BFS events on:
The website http://www.britishfantasysociety.org/events/
Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/britishfantasysociety/
Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/794498883993725/

Hope to see you all soon!

Shouldn't the venue be on the BFS events page rather than in the Forum where less people might see it? And maybe it should be a news feature on the homepage as well?

Is the BFS social a members-only event?

It hasn't been in the past so I assume not this time, either.

Apologies, I didn't manage to put the venue on the website, have been busy with other stuff and overlooked this, will try and ensure this is addressed in future.

Sounds great! I'll try to be there... it'll be nice to meet a bunch of people at last (as well as to see Terry and Rhys again). Thanks for sharing the event!

It was great to meet everyone at the BFS London Social last night. Especially nice to catch up with TFF old friends Rhys Hughes and Terry Grimwood, and to meet for the first time David Rix, Dolly Garland, Andrew Hook, Fiona Duffin, C.C. Adams, Allen Ashley, Karen Fishwick, Stephen Oram… and apologies to everyone else whose name I didn't catch. :) Also congratulations to Valeria Vitale, who won the Eibonvale Press design-a-bookmark contest!

It was fun. I hope I'll be able to make more of these in the future—please do keep us posted on this forum as they're organized.

Apologies, London BFS events are not taking place at the moment due to a couple of factors, firstly that my life has been really busy and secondly because free private venues in central London are difficult to come by so there is a discussion with the BFS committee to decide if there is a budget for this.  Until those discussions are resolved I will not be running any London Events.

I am more than happy to put details of other events onto the BFS calendar/website social media, so if you are organising something do still let me know.

Thanks
Karen
