BFS Open night - 6th June
« on: June 04, 2003, 04:54:52 pm »

Just a quickie reminder that this coming Friday (6th June) is the next BFS Open Night.  Starting at around 6.30pm.

In: The Upstairs Bar, The Princess Louise Public House,
208 High Holborn (nr Newton St), London WC1
Nearest tube: Holborn (Central & Piccadilly lines).

Telos Publishing will be bringing along some copies of Mark Chadbourn's Wonderland (buy it, it's fab!) and hopefully also Steve Lockley & Paul Lewis's new horror novella The King of the Dead.

Hi Stephen,

Sorry have only just read this one!

Open Nights by general consent seem to be in London cos everyone knows it's there, basically, and it is hard to break tradition.

But having said that I myself live in the Midlands, so can never get to London, so I agree it would be nice to hold some open nights away from London.  So if you know there are a good few people who would go, and if you know of a good venue to hold one at, let me know, and maybe we can sort something out!

After all this is the British Fantasy Society, not just the London one...

We tryed to have some Open Nights in manchester but there was not much response. If anyone would like to do one let us now or post here. I still know what places are available. It's getting enough people interested.

If there was an open night in Bath or Bristol I should be able to bring a few geeky friends with me.

This is the sort of information we need!  That there are fans out there willing to meet up, if we organised something somewhere accessible to them... Actually I would like to organise an event in Devon or Cornwall anyway, so keep your eyes peeled for more news on that!

Meanwhile, any more suggestions send them our way
