for me, the message that resonated the most this year was

you start off producing work that disappoints you but the more you produce the less disappointing they will become


and Jo Fletcher made some good points about finishing work and moving on rather than wallowing in a pool of refinement and self-doubt,
end the story, let it rest, edit, submit it, and while you're waiting - write and sub some more
