Murky Depths . . .
« on: May 03, 2007, 09:02:18 pm »
. . . is a hybrid straight prose and comic magazine based in the UK, although half the team are in the USA. Our byeline states we're a "Quarterly Anthology of Graphically Dark Speculative Fiction", being mainly sci-fi leaning towards horror, but if we think it fits we'll publish regardless. Issue #1 is headlined by a short story from John Courtenay Grimwood and we may have a surprise graphic serial from normally prose writer . . . well that'd spoil the surprise wouldn't it! We'll just say he used to feature quite a bit in Interzone a few years ago and Death features in a trilogy of his. Answers on a postcard to . . .

The 80-page Issue #1 features eleven short stories, four strips and non-fiction features, with a unique illustration commisioned for each story, but you'll have to wait until September when it debuts with cover art by Steve Stone.

There's a 16-page, Issue #0, promo edition (featuring cover art by Les Edwards) available from the website http://www.murkydepths.com for just ?1.75 including carriage. There's a review here if you're interested.

Murky Depths #1 might not be out yet but we've already scooped a story from Stan Nicholls for Issue #2 and a cover from Geoff Taylor (but that's still under wraps).

You know you want to subscribe!

. . . and you can do that at Murky Depths

In case you didn't see it at Fantasycon, or haven't visited the site for a while.
