Press Release? Immediate

Well known Midlands author Storm Constantine has lashed out at the mainstream publishing industry by setting up her own publishing company.

Immanion Press, based in Stafford, will be publishing horror, fantasy and science fiction novels by new and established authors, who are being squeezed out of the business by ?A list? authors with the backing of big promotional budgets, including TV and radio airtime and tie-ins with movies.

?Nowadays, book publishing is about shifting as many ?units? as quickly as possible.  It?s more about making huge profit and that squeezes out new talent,? said Storm.

?Big publishing houses tend to treat books more like cans of beans than a source of pleasure and entertainment.   The average novel has the shelf life of a magazine in shops,? she added.

?Unless you are a big name like J K Rowling or Jeffrey Archer, either exceptionally lucky or really well known to begin with, unpublished novelists stand less and less chance of seeing their work in print.?

Immanion Press also aims to republish the earlier novels of respected and established authors, which have long been out of print.

Storm, author of more than twenty published novels and works of non-fiction, said: ?There is a huge demand from fans for older, classic works, which the big publishers won?t touch.

?I started Immanion Press initially after thousands of requests from my own fans who couldn?t get hold of books in my back catalogue. Now I want to do the same for other authors, as well as showcase exciting new talent,? said Storm.

The official launch party of Immanion Press, with its first publication, the re-release of Storm?s internationally best-selling novel, ?The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit?, was held at Metro Fox in Victoria Street, Wolverhampton on Saturday, 2nd August.
