A BFS Presence on MySpace...
« on: May 12, 2007, 02:49:15 pm »
...We really ought to have one! It would be a fantastic place to get free advertising for the society.  :)

The page template is simplicity itself, doesn't take that long to set up a presence. What do folk think? Good idea?

Sounds like a good idea, a few of us are already there.

I've found that running a MySpace page is a lot of administrative hassle, but does have some small rewards.

I was thinking of doing one for the Indie Press Reviewers, with intros to each reviewer, quotes from reviews, my youtube video book reviews etc.

MySpace is a good place to start, but is being rapidly supplanted by Facebook. Creating a presence in both systems is the smartest, IMHO.

imho, I don't think it does any harm to have a presence on myspace but I'm not convinced that it does any good either.  Though once you have the page up and running it tends to look after itself.  I invited some people to be my myspace friends (sad!) and now, every day there are a couple of friends requests, so it's self propelling  at this stage.
