Charlotte Bond is an author, ghostwriter, freelance editor, proofreader, reviewer, and podcaster. Under her own name she has written within the genres of horror and dark fantasy. As a ghostwriter, she’s tackled everything from romance to cozy mystery stories and YA novels. She is a regular contributor of historical articles to The Vintage News website. She is a co-host of the podcast, Breaking the Glass Slipper, which has been nominated for the BFS award for Best Audio four times, winning it in 2019. Her Black Shuck Shadows collection The Watcher in the Woods won the British Fantasy Society’s award for Best Collection in 2021.
Laura Mauro was born and raised in London and now lives in Oxfordshire. Her short story ‘Looking for Laika’ won the British Fantasy Award for Best Short Fiction in 2018, and ‘Sun Dogs’ was shortlisted for the 2017 Shirley Jackson Award in the Novelette category. Their debut collection, ‘Sing Your Sadness Deep’ won the 2020 British Fantasy Award for Best Collection, and their short story ‘The Pain-Eater’s Daughter’ won the 2020 British Fantasy Award for Best Short Fiction. Dave Jeffery is the author of 16 novels, two collections, and numerous short stories. His Necropolis Rising series and yeti adventure Frostbite have both featured on the Amazon #1 bestseller list. His YA work features the Beatrice Beecham supernatural mystery series, and the critically acclaimed A Quiet Apocalypse series. His contemporary mental health novel Finding Jericho is currently being optioned as a TV miniseries.
As if this panel alone isn’t reason enough to join us, we also have a panel on Fantastical Creatures with Anna Smith Spark, RJ Barker and Juliet E McKenna, our president Juliet Mushens will be interviewing Taran Matharu, and we have a panel on Working with a Small Press with THREE award winning small presses – Francesca T Barbini from Luna Press Publishing, George Sandison from Unsung Stories and Sammy HK Smith from Grimbold Books. In addition, there will be readings throughout the day, and it’s all finished off with an open mic session, where you can read some of your own work.
