Fox 2000 Goes North with Jack London

News from Tim Lebbon and Christopher Golden: “In a pre-emptive strike, Fox 2000 has acquired film rights to the upcoming young adult supernatural adventure series The Secret Journeys of Jack London. The HarperCollins book series, authored by Christopher Golden and Tim Lebbon, follows young Jack London as he dares the frozen north in the midst of the Gold Rush in an attempt to triumph over the wilderness, and the wildness within himself – only to discover that there are many kinds of perils in the Yukon Territory, some of them monstrous legends come to life. Golden and Lebbon are also attached to adapt.

Golden’s graphic novel Talent is currently in development at Universal, while Lebbon’s story ‘Pay the Ghost’ is in pre-production for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

The project was championed at Fox by Riley Ellis, 20th Century Fox’s children’s and YA book executive. Nick D’Angelo of Fox 2000, will be the executive on the project.

Golden is represented by Pete Donaldson of Donaldson Media and Consulting, who will also produce. Donaldson produced Fallen for ABC Family and has numerous other film and television projects in development. Lebbon is represented by Michael Prevett at The Gotham Group.

The Secret Journeys of Jack London: The Wild, the first book in the series, will be published in March, 2011 in North America and France, with other territories currently being sold.”
