Mslexia novel writing competition

The deadline for the new Mslexia Women’s Novel Competition for previously unpublished novelists is approaching fast ‘ the deadline is 30 September. They say they ‘have some novel-related resources available on our website which may be of some interest to anyone who is thinking of entering the competition ‘ or who is in the process of writing a novel in any context.

Firstly, we have our Quick Fix Fiction feature, originally published in the Apr/May/Jun 2011 edition of Mslexia: here.  Secondly, the Get Published area of our website includes intensive workshops on writing the first paragraph, title, synopsis and pitch letter: here.

The competition is open to any genre of adult fiction, including fantasy, crime, romance, sci-fi, women’s lit and more, but we’re not accepting nonfiction or fiction for children under the age of 13. Our very exciting judging panel is made up of literary agent Clare Alexander, broadcaster Jenni Murray and novelist Sarah Waters. The first prize is ‘5,000.’  More information is available on the Mslexia website.
