Xmas London Social – 8th December

british fantasy society logo

If you are in the London area, we hope you are joining us for the Xmas Social, it’s a great time to meet up with wonderful people and celebrate the season.  Everyone is welcome, you don’t need to be a BFS member.

This year we are in the Vintry pub, which serve a great selection of food and drink and have reserved us the conservatory for our meet up.

Eibonvale Press will be launching its new chapbook line and Brendan Connell’s unique and unclassifiable collection Pleasant Tales.  Filled with hints of horror and the weird, these stories also have a pop art glow to them and a deep sense of the strangeness of the mundane world. The first volume of the chapbooks will be Kristine Ong Muslim’s collection of sci-fi and horror miniatures The Drone Outside.

Snuggly Books will have a few new titles available, including a launch of The Emerald Princess by Félicien Champsaur and translated by Brian Stableford. An engagingly bizarre fantasy from 1928, full of lurid symbolism and harking back to the stylistic extravagances of the Decadent Movement, the title story is combined with five others, all presented in English for the first time.
